Obituary for Roger C Truran

Roger Charles Truran (73) born November 25, 1946, passed away on June 13, 2020 at Hospice of Dayton.

Roger is survived by his mother, Mary June (Atwell) Truran; his wife of 53 years, Karen Sue (Fisher) Truran; sons, Stephen (Lori), Mike (Sabrina Willoughby) & Tonya; grandchildren, Kyle, Presley, Austin, Brooke, Chase, Spencer, Cole, Mason, Laila and Landon; great grandson, Beckham; siblings, Ruth Oskey and Mary Newkirk; his forever friends Tim (Shannon & Chloe) Sparks among many other loving extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Raymond Truran; brother, Dennis Truran and daughter, Lisa Truran.

Born in Warren, OH, Roger graduated of Lakeview High School (class of 1965) in Cortland, OH.

He is a Navy Veteran - serving from 1965-1969 on the USS Preston DD-795.

After the Navy, Roger was a boiler technician at LTV Steel in Youngstown, Ohio and later at Appleton Paper in West Carrollton, Ohio from which he retired in 2011.

In his younger years he loved to drag race and work on his car. He also loved fishing, wood working, going to Las Vegas and most of all spending time with his family.

There will be a celebration of life service held on June 27, 2020 at 2PM at the Dayton Firefighter Activity Center, 3616 Needmore Rd, Dayton, Ohio 45424.

Family will receive friends from 1PM until time of Memorial Service at 2PM, following will be a fellowship with remembering and celebrating his life until 5PM.
